New to the walking category, the GEL-Fitwalk Lyte is a walking shoe for the neutral foot type. This means it is ideally suited to those consumers who need little to no medial support. ASICS developers have produced a complete range of walking shoes that address the differences between running and walking – and the GEL-Fitwalk Lyte is no exception. During walking, our heel strike is more centred than during running and also located further back on the foot. To accommodate this, the Fitwalk Lyte features a centred heel bevel and a
rearfoot GEL unit with a posterior focus. A full length SpEVA midsole, SpEVA 45 lasting and Gender Specific cushioning in the forefoot make the Fitwalk Lyte the ideal choice for those searching for a softer ride. A full AHAR outsole with walking specific flex grooves in
the forefoot and a longer, lower profile trusstic make this shoe durable and supportive – all at a great pricepoint.
Lightweight Synthetic leather upper
Rearfoot GEL unit positioned for walking
Gender Specific cushioning in the forefoot helps recognise the subtle differences between men and women.
SpEVA midsole with SpEVA 45 Lasting
Walking specific Trusstic compensates for the lack of gained momentum experienced during walking
Full AHAR outsole increases resistance to a greater exposure to shear forces associated with walking gait.
Impact Guidance System™
The Impact Guidance System is a technical design philosophy that allows the foot to perform in a more natural manner for the intended sport.
A reflective material produced by the 3M company for night safety.
An EVA sockliner moulded to the shape of the foot, which can be removed to accommodate a medical orthotic.
Gender Specific Cushioning
This is an injected and separate piece of Solyte that is in the forefoot of the midsole. The women’s piece is softer (48degree durometer measure) compared to the men’s (53degree). This allows the lighter frame of women to feel the cushioning available in the forefoot of the shoe.
The ASICS GEL System is probably the most famous of all our innovations. To bring about the highest possible shock absorbing effect, the GEL-units are strategically placed in the midsole of the shoe. For the ASICS GEL cushioning system various materials are used. Depending on its function, the GEL-unit contains a siliconebased porous foam, a silicone GEL or a semi-solid silicone substance encapsulated in polyurethane. The shape of the units are also precisely designed to the specific function and position.
ASICS High Abrasion Rubber. Tough rubber compound used at the heavy-contact areas of the outersole. Helps cut down on excessive wear.
Moulded component under the midfoot area. Provides over-pronation control in combination with extremely contoured midsoles. Also reduces the weight of the shoe.
Proprietary midsole material that improves bounce back characteristics and decreases midsole breakdown.
This shoe is lasted with EVA.
SpEVA® Lasting 45
The proprietary midsole material takes on a new role as a lasting technology, enhancing comfort by improved cushioning through the use of three different densities. 45 density for high cushion and flexibility.
